We join in a Coffee & Prayer Fellowship in an online service at 11:00 a.m. on Sundays, led by Pastor David Hutchinson. If you would like to participate contact Kathleen.
Sermons are posted in Audio and textual version on this website. https://plychurch.org/sermons/
Through the rest of 2020, the sermons will follow the New Testament letters known as the Epistle readings (1 Cor. below). So not the Old Testament nor the Gospel readings. Later as we near Christmas Day we will explore the stories of some Angels found in the Bible, in other places than the birth of Christ.
Lectionary
November 29
Isaiah 64:1-9; Psalm 80:1-7, 17-19
I Corinthians 1:3-9; Mark 13:24-37
The Advent season starts on November 29 and as we meet on Sunday morning in our virtual computer platform, we will light Advent candles. Each person is encouraged to find four candles and arrange them in a circle. You can do this with a pie tin base, or something more elaborate. Usually the candles are purple or blue. Sometimes there are three purple and one pink. Whatever you have available is fine, and if you’d like to join in on Sundays in Advent just have your candles ready on Sunday morning.
“A Time for Thanksgiving”
Scripture: 1 Cor. 1:3-9
Sermon: “Always Thankful”
Themes: Focusing on thanksgiving this week seems a week late.
It is after the Thanksgiving holiday, but time also seems a bit off this year.
Waiting, and how we wait.
Hymns: “Come thou Long Expected Jesus” (Advent hymn)
